In my work, I am trying to understand how the human brain learns and manipulates abstract mathematical concepts. In particular, I study the relation between high-level mathematics and language, and the learning processes involved in the acquisition of mathematics. I address these issues with both behavioral and fMRI studies. I work with adults (in particular professional mathematicians) and children in France and in the USA, and with a people from the Amazon, the Mundurukus.
